Import a QFX file into Quicken
- In DocuClipper, open Download Data, choose QFX and set the account type.
- Click Download QFX (Quicken). A job with several accounts can download one file per account.
- In Quicken for Windows, go to File > File Import > Web Connect (.QFX) File (on Mac, File > Import > Bank or Brokerage File) and pick the account to add the transactions to.

Check the numbers before you import
Before you download, DocuClipper adds up each statement against its own opening and closing balances and flags any that don't match, so a missing transaction is caught here, not months later in your Quicken or Sage register.

Upload the PDF to DocuClipper and wait for the transactions to be extracted. Open Download Data, choose QFX in the Output Format list, set the account type (checking/savings or credit card) and account number, and click Download QFX (Quicken). In Quicken for Windows, import the file with File > File Import > Web Connect (.QFX) File; in Quicken for Mac, use File > Import > Bank or Brokerage File (OFX, QFX). Upload the PDF, review the extracted transactions, then open Download Data and choose OFX in the Output Format list. Import the .ofx file into Sage, MYOB, Microsoft Money, GnuCash or any other tool that reads Open Financial Exchange files.
QFX is Quicken's version of OFX: the same Open Financial Exchange structure plus Intuit's INTU.BID field, which Quicken uses to recognize the bank (Web Connect). Quicken imports QFX; most other personal finance and accounting tools expect plain OFX. DocuClipper writes both from the same extracted transactions.
No. The QFX download asks for the account type, account number and currency, not the bank. You choose where the transactions go in Quicken during the import, by linking the file to your existing account or creating a new one. Give each real account its own account number so Quicken keeps the accounts apart.
OFX 1.0.2 (the SGML format), for both .ofx and .qfx files. Each transaction gets its own FITID, and checks with a check number are written as CHECK transactions.
Yes. Scanned PDFs and photos (JPG, PNG, TIFF) work too, not just statements downloaded from online banking. Scan quality affects results, so check the balance badge before you download.
Yes. Upload several statements in one job. When a job contains more than one account, you can download a ZIP with a separate OFX or QFX file for each account, so each one imports into the right register.
