Reports Overview

The Report sub-tab turns every statement in a project into one report: a packet summary, then Coverage, Authenticity, Income, Risk flags, Cashflow, Transfers, Recurring and Flow of funds, each with a headline, key numbers and flags. Download it as PDF or Excel.

Last updated

The Report sub-tab gives you the whole project at a glance. Upload a client's bank and credit card statements, and the report summarizes them in one place: what was uploaded, whether every period ties out, which months are missing, and what the transactions say about income, spending, transfers and fees.

It is built for:

  • Accountants and bookkeepers starting a catch-up, a month-end close or a tax engagement with a stack of client statements
  • Anyone who has to send a summary to a client, a partner or a reviewer, as a PDF or an Excel workbook

The Report sub-tab is on every plan. Reports use no pages: pages are counted when a statement is converted, and you can open, refresh and download reports as often as you like.

The Report sub-tab for a small bakery client: the packet summary reads 18 documents, 12 bank statements across 2 accounts and 6 credit card statements from January to June 2026 with all 18 periods reconciled, followed by the Coverage card (no gaps) and the Income card, with the Reports, Download PDF and Download Excel buttons above

How to open it

  1. Open a project that holds the client's statements. Upload every account you have for them, so transfers between accounts can be matched.
  2. Wait for the statements to finish converting.
  3. Open Bank/CC Transactions > Advanced Analysis. It opens on the Report sub-tab, the first one in the row.

The reports are computed from the project's current transactions. Add a statement, edit a transaction, or re-extract a document and the reports update to match. On a large project a card can show Computing for a few seconds; it fills in on its own.

What the report shows

Packet summary

The first panel of the report. It names how many documents the project holds, which accounts and months they cover, and how many statement periods tie out to their printed opening and closing balances. A period that does not tie out is named, so you know which statement to look at before relying on the numbers.

Report cards

Below the summary, each report has a card with:

  • A headline: one to three sentences with the answer, for example the months that are missing or the number of transfers found.
  • Key numbers: two to four figures with their units. A number with a dotted underline links to the transactions behind it: click it to see those rows, or the document they came from.
  • Flags: items that need attention, marked Critical, Warning or Note. View rows next to a flag shows the transactions behind it.

Click View details on a card to open the full tables behind its headline. From there, Open full analysis takes you to that report's own sub-tab in Advanced Analysis, where you can review and correct the detail. All reports brings you back.

The Recurring report opened from its card: 7 recurring payees at $5,408 a month and $0 of recurring deposits, above the Recurring transactions table with each payment's amount and total amount paid in dollars and cents, interval, count, amount a month and first and last dates, and an Open full analysis button at the top right

When a report needs more statements

A report that does not have the statements it needs shows a grey card whose headline says what is missing, instead of showing zeros. For example, Transfers needs statements from at least two accounts, and Coverage needs at least one bank or credit card statement.

Authenticity

Authenticity is part of Fraud Detection, which comes with Business and Enterprise plans and with the free trial.

  • With Fraud Detection on your plan, the card loads with the other reports. Documents that have no score yet show Not scored yet: click Show authenticity and DocuClipper scores them, a few seconds per document. On a large project the card shows how many documents are scored so far and keeps going until all of them are. If any are left, Score N more documents at the bottom of the card picks up where it stopped.
  • On a plan that can try Fraud Detection, the card offers Show authenticity. Showing it starts your 14-day Fraud Detection trial, and the card says so before you click. It then scores the project's documents.

Flow of funds

Flow of funds comes with Business and Enterprise plans and with the free trial, the same as the Flow of Funds sub-tab. On other plans its card says it is available on Business and Enterprise plans, with an Upgrade to Business button.

Downloading the report

Click Download PDF for a report to send, or Download Excel for one sheet per report. See Download a report as PDF or Excel.

Choosing which reports run

Click Reports above the cards and tick the reports you want. The choice is saved for the project, so everyone who opens it sees the same report. Packet summary, Coverage and Authenticity always run: they are listed ticked and cannot be turned off. The number on the Reports button is how many reports run, which is the packet summary plus one card for each of the others.

Money on a card is shown one way across the card: whole dollars when every amount is $1,000 or more, cents on all of them when a smaller amount needs them. Tables behind a card always show cents.

Until you change it, a project shows the reports that fit the work you told DocuClipper you do. Reset to defaults in the same list goes back to them.

FAQs

What is the Report sub-tab in DocuClipper?

The Report sub-tab is the summary page of a project's Advanced Analysis. It shows a packet summary of every statement in the project, followed by one card per report (Coverage, Authenticity, Income, Risk flags, Cashflow, Transfers, Recurring and Flow of funds), each with a headline, key numbers and flags. You can download it as a PDF or as an Excel workbook.

Do reports cost pages?

No. Pages are counted when a statement is converted. Reports run on statements already in the project, and opening, refreshing or downloading them uses no pages.

Is the Report sub-tab on my plan?

Yes. The Report sub-tab is on every plan, including the free trial. The Authenticity and Flow of funds reports come with Business and Enterprise plans and with the free trial.

Will the report be the same if I open it again?

Yes. Reports are computed by fixed rules from the project's transactions, so the same statements give the same report. If you add a statement or edit a transaction, the report changes to match.

How is the Report sub-tab different from the other Advanced Analysis sub-tabs?

Each of the other sub-tabs holds one analysis, with the full tables and the tools to review them. The Report sub-tab is the overview over those analyses: the headline of each, on one page, ready to download.
