Understanding The DocuClipper Free Trial
What the DocuClipper free trial includes: 120 pages to process and one sample export per account (10 transactions, 3 invoices or receipts, 3 tax forms), and how to upgrade to unlock full exports.
The DocuClipper free trial lets you test our data extraction on your own documents before you pay anything. No credit card is required to start - you can sign up and begin converting right away.
What Does the Free Trial Include?
The trial runs for 14 days and includes:
- Up to 120 pages to process. The trial includes a one-time grant of 120 pages for the whole trial, not a monthly allowance. Upload and convert up to 120 pages of statements, invoices, or other documents so you can check accuracy on the files you actually work with.
- One sample export per account. The free trial exports up to 10 transactions, 3 invoices or receipts and 3 tax forms per account, across all jobs. Your first export of each kind of data contains that sample, so you can check the export format and quality before committing. Exporting the same sample again, in another format or to another app, is free and does not use more of it. Team members share their account's sample. Invoices and receipts count whole: an invoice in your sample comes with every one of its line items, and the download preview shows the invoices outside the sample blurred. In a brokerage Excel workbook, every holding, activity row and realized lot counts as a transaction, so the trial workbook carries the first rows that fit in your sample (see Converting Brokerage Statements).
Extraction runs on your whole document - the sample applies only to what you can export, not to what DocuClipper reads. You can review every extracted transaction and invoice on-screen throughout the trial.
Do I Need to Cancel My Free Trial?
No. The trial ends on its own after 14 days. There is no card on file, so nothing is billed when it ends, and you only pay if you choose a plan.
Your trial is shown in Settings → Plan & Billing: the plan card reads DocuClipper Business free trial, with the date it is free until and the number of trial pages. The price on the card is what the plan costs if you choose it. The top bar shows the days left in your trial next to Choose a plan.
If you want to stop the trial before its end date anyway, click Cancel trial in the top bar or on the plan card. See Canceling Your DocuClipper Subscription.
The Trial Sample
The sample covers every way data leaves DocuClipper: file downloads (CSV, Excel, QBO, IIF and the other formats), pushes to QuickBooks, Xero, Sage and Dynamics, automations (Google Sheets, Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, Box and webhooks), and the API. Running more jobs does not add to it.
Once the sample for a kind of data is used, DocuClipper shows an upgrade window instead of exporting any further data of that kind (the rows you already received can still be exported again), and the download preview says the trial export is used. Automations record "The free trial exports up to ..." on the Automations page instead of delivering, and invoices that would have synced to QuickBooks or Xero show the same message.
Subscribing to a paid plan or buying pages lifts the limit, and everything you've already extracted becomes exportable in full without re-processing.
Trying DocuClipper Without an Account
You can also convert a document straight from our website without signing up. Your results open in DocuClipper right away, in that browser only.
To keep that work, click Save my work in the banner at the top of the page and enter your email address. We send you a confirmation link, and your account, with every document you already converted, is then yours to log back in to from any device.
Saving your account with your email comes before upgrading. If you choose a plan or buy pages first, DocuClipper opens the Save your work form and asks for your email address, so the plan you buy belongs to an account you can always log back in to, manage and cancel. Once your email is saved, choose your plan again to continue to checkout.
FAQs
I’ve uploaded my documents, but only 10 transactions have been exported. Why is this happening?
If you’re using the DocuClipper free trial, the free trial exports up to 10 transactions per account, across all jobs. This sample lets you test DocuClipper’s data extraction and export capabilities.
Can I increase the number of transactions I can export during the free trial?
The trial sample is fixed. To export everything, subscribe to a paid plan or buy pages - either one lifts the cap and unlocks full exports of the documents you've already processed.
I’ve upgraded to a paid subscription, but I’m still only able to export 10 transactions. What should I do?
If you’ve upgraded to a paid subscription and are still experiencing this issue, please contact our support team at support@docuclipper.com. They will be able to assist you in resolving this issue.
Why is there a limit on the number of transactions I can export during the free trial?
The limit is in place to provide users with a sample of DocuClipper’s capabilities without overwhelming them with data. It also helps us maintain the quality of our service and manage resources effectively.
What happens to the rest of my data after I’ve reached the 10-transaction limit?
Nothing is lost. The full document is still processed and stored in your account - you just can't export more than the trial sample until you subscribe or buy pages. Once you do, you can export everything without re-processing.
I converted a document without signing up. Why does DocuClipper ask for my email before I can upgrade?
A plan has to belong to an account you can log back in to. Without an email address, the account exists only in the browser you used, and you could not get back to it to manage or cancel your plan. Enter your email in the Save your work form; your converted documents stay in the same account, and you can then choose your plan.
Will I be charged when my free trial ends?
No. DocuClipper doesn't ask for a card when you sign up, so there is nothing to charge and nothing to cancel. When the 14 days are up the trial simply ends. To keep converting and exporting, choose a plan and enter your payment details then. See Understanding Charges After Trial Period.
How much can my account export during the free trial?
One sample per account, across all jobs: up to 10 transactions, 3 invoices or receipts and 3 tax forms, counted across downloads, accounting integrations, automations and the API. After that sample, the upgrade window appears when you export that kind of data; your extracted data stays in your account and exports in full once you subscribe.
